Princesses

Kiera is into princesses lately. We've been watching a lot of princess movies lately. I'm noticing a theme: It seems like all of the princesses want to be something that they are not. So is that the definition of a princess?

That is so cute that all the princesses are lined up. How funny!

That is so true about princess movies. That's too bad!

Your little one is getting big! she is so cute too!

thank you. so poignant. it is for that reason i'm not sure i will permit my future daughters to watch the princess movies. i'm sure that kiera will be fine, however.

Hmmmm, wheels turning.
Ok, a quick synopsis:
Princess Ariel- Definitely the most extreme in terms of not liking herself to become something she's not. But she's brave!
Princess Jasmine- Not even the main character in her movie. Doesn't like to be a princess, but never really comes to terms with that. Aladdin learns the real lesson.
Princess Snow White- Naive. Innocent. Escapes pure evil. Just wants to be loved. Shows her love to others. Good lesson.
Princess Aurora- Oblivious most of her life to what she truly is. Finds love, allows her to take her place where she belongs. One of my personal favorites.
Princess Belle- Intelligent. Wants a friend who understands her. Knows how to find true beauty. Finds love unexpectedly. Speaks french. My absolute favorite.
Princess Cinderella- Treated horribly, yet never discourages her heart. The ultimate happily ever after, overcoming those who hold her back, and finding true love; what she's always wanted.
Did I forget anyone? Probably.

The point is, my niece asked me for a set of Princess golf clubs for Christmas. Princess merchandise is on a rampage! It won't ever stop!
Anyway, cute girls you have!

I recently read this good article about girls growing up to fast. I have never really liked Barbie or Disney Princesses... but we do have them in the house. This article hit home. This is the link. http://www.parents.com/teens-tweens/health-body-issues/body-issues/girls-growing-up-too-fast/
